Things to do
Velddrif brings to mind the Berg River, fishermen, bokkoms and beautiful beaches. The origin of the name of the town comes from a time when a local farmer brought his stock to find an area to graze across the river and they needed to pass through a drift in the veld. Laaiplek is where the wheat harvest from the Sandveld was loaded (“laai” means load in Afrikaans) onto smaller boats, after making its way down the Berg River, when it then crossed the sand banks to larger ships en route to Cape Town.
Rooms & Rates
We have 4 units. Grace and Peace are cozy en-suite units consisting of a small living room, kitchenette, bedroom and a unique bathroom. Joy (loft) is an open-plan loft with an unique shower. Harmony is our family unit consisting of a small living area with a kitchen, a main bedroom with a double bed, a second bedroom with three single beds and one bathroom with a shower. We have a large braai area that guests can enjoy and a big garden at the back. The units are separate from the main house with its own entrance and secure parking.
